A day at the Beach

I can't believe the weekend is almost over, AGAIN. Weekends go by about 50 times more quickly than work days. I was convinced we would win Powerball this weekend but we went to buy our tickets too late on Saturday night and missed the deadline.

Today was our employee picnic at Nashville Shores. This was the first time we have ever been there, and it's OK (for free). There's only 4 waterslides, so I'm not convinced that it even qualifies as a water park. There's no wave pool, and the pools there are pretty small and none are over 4 feet deep. There's also wave runners and things you can rent, and some paddleboats on the lake. Anyway, we had a lot of fun (for free). It wasn't very sunny, so that helped since we had to stand in line about a half an hour for each ride.

I just signed Brent and I up for a 5K in August - the 1st Annual I Run for the Party 5K. It's sponsored by this guy who ran the CMM totally painted in blue. (Brent actually has a picture of him finishing). It's got a lot of freebies and it's one of the only races run in the evening in Nashville. It sounds like a lot of fun. They have costume prizes, so we've got to figure out what we want to dress up like. If anyone has any great ideas from races they've been in please drop me a comment!

Also, I think we may do the Evansville, Indiana half marathon on October 9th. Brent should be ready by then! From their training plan (online) he's already 3 weeks ahead of schedule. I'll keep you posted!

Cya later!

Rae

Exercise: No formal exercise - just yardwork and plenty of walking around/splashing in the pool at Nashville Shores
