Spirit of the Marathon Movie

In short, the movie was awesome. I cried twice: once when Deena got bronze and then during the start of the actual marathon. To me, one of the prettiest sights are streets lined with runners, and then all the heads bopping as they start out on their as yet undefined journey. It was very well put together and it made me want to have Deena K as my best friend because she's just too cute, esp with longer hair. And so is Paula Radcliffe with her super cute accent. And I really want to cook Deena a huge dinner because she's just too skinny, even though in the "extra footage" after the movie she said she eats 5,000 calories a day. (No fair on that one.....)

Anyway, it was a great movie and it's my bedtime so I'll have to talk more about it later, but if you get a chance to see the encore "one night only" showing in February go see it!! You'll even forget how @#$@#$@#$@$# cold it is, for a couple of hours anyway.

I saw a commercial for it while I was x-training at the gym last night. I'm going to have to check it out!

It was a great movie. It was simply a great way to motivate myself for the Chicago marathon.

It was good to see you and Brent last night at the movie. I too thought it was amazing that Dena can eat 5,000 calories a day during training. So when are you going to sign up for Chicago?

Oh my, I didn't make the connection but I do remember seeing you. My head is in a fog on antibiotics. Ugh!

So, glad I saw the movie. I needed a "jolt" of motivation.

It was a great movie! I was amazed at how beautiful it was when the runners were training along the lake. Can it always be that great? Isn't Chicago the "windy city"? My walking club saw it together and we had a large turnout for this morning's 7-mile training walk. Coincidence? I think not!

How much help did Deena get from her male pacer to help her hold off the runner up? Did the movie show that? (Not to take anything away from her London performance.)

Word. That movie gave me chills. I'm buying it the second it comes out on DVD (supposedly this summer). Talk about motivating!
